Had a blast of a week at Surigao with my friends from Dumsville. Spent a whole week by the sea where the waves are just around the corner. For the first two days and nights we headed first to Siargao, we stayed at Jadestar Lodging in General Luna where the accommodation was comfortable and the meals are indubitably satisfying to the mouth and stomach. We visited the world famous surf spot, Cloud 9, but none of us dared to conquer it yet, we just savored the view of the waves at the tower. We met local kids who approached us and offered to teach us to surf, we were a little apprehensive but when we saw them surf, wow those kids can really ride waves. At the spot for beginners, Jackin' Horse, we tried our luck and ended up just paddling around.
On the third day, we were on our way to Lanuza via Socorro and Cantilan. We stayed at Mami's Surf Haus for the entire time we were at Lanuza. The guys of AFrame Surf Company were staying there too and we had the privilege to borrow their surfboards and longboards. We felt at home right away in this small town, the place is so clean and the people are friendly. Our "suki" every meals was the Bamboo Haus, the food is yummy and affordable. In front of the town's boulevard is a stretch of surf spots: Poctoy, Dawis, and Castor. These spots are where the annual surfing competitions are held. We tried the waves at Poctoy and luckily we were able to ride some. Another awesome place we visited was also a haven for surfers, Punta Left. The place is remote and beautiful and offers good waves for surfers.
We had so much fun for the whole trip and definitely going back there.
