Baji in Analogue

Having been a part of the Baji collective (guild of female artists from Bohol, Philippines) for 3 years is a wonderful experience. Given the chance to showcase your artwork in an all-female artists exhibit is such a privilege. Mounting your piece on the same wall where known and talented Boholana artists are also hanging their works gives one a good feeling.

The annual Baji exhibit is about to commence again next month in time to Women's Month. Sadly, I haven't prepared a painting for this year. I guess I'll submit a poem or lomo print instead, better yet I could rush creating an artwork. Hmmm... We'll see what can be done.

Take a look at last year's exhibit: Baji 2013

While waiting for February to end, here are a few shots of Baji from 2011 to 2013 using my film cameras:

Making Music

Music plays a big role in this world-- it unites human beings. We may be listening to the same songs as those in the other corners of the earth. There are different religions, races, nationalities but there will always be a similar song or two that we appreciate together and know by heart. At least there's this point that we have in common. It's a wondrous thing to ponder on really.

Making music is a way of channeling your thoughts and letting others hear and feel what you wish to convey. As the first note is hit and people stop to listen, you know you've made a connection.

Music is very spiritual, it has the power to bring people together. ~Edgar Winter

People being People

Surprisingly, people are entertaining to watch by simply living their lives. It's interesting how we find someone across the street without even knowing why our attention was caught. Everyone has a story to tell because life is like a book with challenging and thrilling chapters or dragging and dull moments. People everywhere from different walks of life make this world a beguiling place.

Unguarded moments caught on film...
