They say wear polka dots on a new year for monetary luck

There's this popular belief that polka dots on new year's day bring luck with regards to money. From where I am, there are so many of these folklores. But really, I'm just wearing these dots because I like them and the new year has long passed. 

My cousin brought up this topic when we met while I was wearing this ensemble that's why it came to me that I should use it for the title. Oh, man! Once again, not only am I the worst at picking backgrounds, I'm the worst at making titles too. Haha.

You can never go wrong with simple and classic style. Kirsten Dunst is masterful in putting together basic casual looks and her red carpet choices are elegant and sophisticated. 

I admire how she dresses herself. Despite the simplicity of her ensembles, style is not sacrificed. She looks well-put and comfortable at the same time. Her feminine and timeless fashion makes her one of my favorite celebrity style icons. I'd love to remake any of her looks; they're so wearable and chic.

That Pizza at the Back Looks Tasty

I really dig Aztec prints, they make me go googly-eyed. Both the top and leggings are bought from an online seller thru Instagram. The patterns and designs of her leggings are to die for. If only I have the resources to buy them all. But... I wouldn't want to wear leggings all week though, I'd run out of tops to match. Haha.

I'm crawling through landmines just to know where you are

Okay, I look like somebody just ditched me on a meet up in these photos. But really I kept looking down to prevent those nasty red eyes. Yeah, I better get a professional camera of some sort but that can wait. Nyaha. I was out with my family for Sunday dinner at a trusty ol' local restaurant, Garden Cafe. I took advantage of the place since nobody else but us were there at that hour and they have good Wild West decorations all around, so why not take photos for an outfit post? *wink*

Let's be Grungey

Pardon those red eyes, the camera has been naughty and I'm tired of editing those scary eyes. Anyway, this is a style post so the eyes don't matter or do they? Nah, let's not worry about that. Haha. I'm not sure if this is a grunge look; I just put them on in a hurry so I'd catch my cousin's carpool. All I was really thinking about was to avoid pants that morning. Oh, man... What am I even talking about here? Haha. Anyway, I feel I've gone back to 90's style with my plaid shirt and corduroy skirt. ;]

I'm Not Sure But I Thik this is a Baby Doll Dress

I'm no expert in the exact names of styles but I really think this is a baby doll dress (please correct me if I'm wrong). This grey number is again a good find on a day trip to the thrift shop. I've had this dress for a while now and I have no plans of letting it go just yet. As for the shoes, this again is a Zalora purchase and I got it on a very low price during a sale on Chinese New Year (Yay to Sale!). I've been looking for maryjanes like these and here it is. I'm one happy thrift/online shopper.

Fanning Sisters

While clicking away on the world wide web, I came across this Tumblr page dedicated to Elle and Dakota Fanning. Browsing this site made me realize how old I am seeing these two lovely young ladies have all grown up. I remember watching their movies when they were just little girls. These blossoming celebrities' refined and elegant looks show signs these fashionable sisters will be future style icons of their generation (well, they already are now). After finding how chic they put their attires together, not only do I admire their individual talents as actors now I'm a fan of their personal style as well.

Braving White Tights

White tights are intimidating-- to adults at least. It's so hard to pull off as it makes the legs look bigger, plus putting it on makes the wearer look like a kid. I myself was told by my niece that I looked like a little girl with my outfit. I braved accessorizing my clothes with it anyway but I still hope I pulled it off instead of appearing like I'm not keeping track of my age. Haha. I had on a black and white ensemble so as not to turn out too exaggerated.
