The Buzzz Cafe

The Buzzz Cafe is one of Bohol's pride when it comes to gastronomic adventure. They offer an array of organic food and most of the ingredients used in their menu comes straight from their garden at the main resort Bohol Bee Farm.

Every time I have friends from other places who come to visit Bohol, I would always recommend a bite to eat at this place and ask "Have you eaten Bougainvillea?".  Ordering their garden salad is a chance to eat flowers; who says flowers are only for display? The vinaigrette is to die for. It's so good that I could drink it on its own. Haha. Anyway, what's great is you can bring home a bottle of it if you'd like this delicious dressing in your daily salad. They also sell honey, spreads, tea, bread, tableya (cocoa rounds) to name a few.

Don't ever leave without trying their organic ice cream (Malunggay, Guyabano, and Spicy Ginger flavours are worth trying) and ask the waiter to serve it in the Cab-cab cone to complete the Buzzz Cafe ice cream experience.

To pair the scrumptious food is the distinct warm and homey ambiance with a countryside cottage feel.

Bazo

The Milk Tea craze still goes on here in my country. I'm thinking the word tea makes it attractive-- sounds healthy probably. Anyway, I love milk teas that's why as soon as I saw a stall near one of the universities here in my city I was on a master plan to try what they have to offer. Days and weeks went by still I never got a chance to go there to get a sip or two because the location is a bit far from downtown and I didn't have any other reason to be around the area. At my job's family day, the venue was just a a short walk from the milk tea booth Bazo. Yay! L and I went there to give it a try. We ordered Original flavor though the lady over the counter told us that Wintermelon is the bestseller. I'm more curious of the Okinawa (Japanese names intrigue me in some level), I'm off to make another master plan to drink up that one. The original tastes like every other milk tea but the catch is the rate is at student price so it's kinda like getting more than what you paid for.  I'll get back to you soon when I get to sip all of the flavors. *Wink* Aside from milk tea they also sell fries. Milk tea + french fries = perfect student refreshment. If I was a student at the surrounding schools, I'd definitely be snacking on these a lot.

Frankies Cafe

Frankies Cafe isn't hard to spot while you're out shopping at Island City Mall (ICM) in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Just look for Frank Sinatra; his poster is by the counter somehow luring you to go grab a bite to eat. Their menu has a good selection of appetizing food from burgers, pastas, burritos to paninis and more. If you're already stuffed, just grab a cup of brewed coffee pair it with a muffin and just people-watch.

While we were there, this interesting man was there chatting with the cashier. He looked like Filipino actor, Eddie Gutierrez, or a Filipino version of Elvis in contemporary clothes. He kind of matched the vintage air of the diner. I'm not sure if it was coincidental or intentional that an Elvis Presley video was played shortly on a monitor in the cafe while he was there.

Another plus about this diner is a choice of combo meals. You can eat a good tasting burger with fries and free iced tea at a reasonable price.

Gerarda's Family Restaurant

Are you up for Filipino-Chinese food? Gerarda's is the place for your palate if you happen to be in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. You'd feel at home right away in this family owned restaurant especially when it used to be a house-- Gerarda's ancestral house that is. The cozy setting compliments the delectable food; you'll get a full and satisfied stomach in a comfortable place which is what most people are really looking for when eating out.

Their bestseller, Dinakdakan, should never be missed. I don't even know how to describe it in detail, let your taste buds decide. Two words for it though-- absolutely appetizing.

The menu is a feast of savory Filipino and Chinese dishes, a fusion of Asian cuisine. If you're curious as to what might be served during Bol-anon fiestas, then you don't have to wonder anymore since some of the traditional food cooked by Boholano's during said festivities are in Gerarda's menu, with a sophisticated twist of course.
