Growing up under the wing of his violinist mother and writer-sculptor father, Andre Kohn has been exposed to music and art all his life. Being a leader of Figurative Impressionism, he is often featured in several art publications. His works depict the simplicity of the human form in an artistic style he developed on his own. 

He stated in his biography, "I'm seeking my own unique, poetic interpretation of the moment, I'm striving to find the extraordinary in the ordinary." Being a dynamic artist who is willing to continuously grow and learn from the environment and cultures the world possesses, art enthusiasts can look forward to more of his beautiful and inspiring works.

Inspiring Youth: Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai gained worldwide recognition after her attempted assassination by the Taliban due to having aired out her concern for education through media. This 16 year old Pakistani started becoming an education and women's rights activist when the Taliban terrorized her town in Swat Valley. She garnered several awards for shedding inspiration to people all over the world. The 2013 Nobel Peace Prize currently shortlisted her as one of the nominees. Her book, I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban, was published on October 8, 2013. The autobiography's release was in time with the anniversary of the day she was shot on a school bus by Taliban gunmen which occurred October 9 last year .

I immediately admired her courage upon learning about her story. It takes a lot of guts to counter such terrorists with only her voice as her weapon. Malala is a brave teenager who is not afraid to make a difference and who has big dreams-- dream for peace, for education, for women's rights. It's incredible that she has all these ideas and outlooks at a very young age. Her fearless move to be heard has created a huge global influence. May she continue to spread light and awakening in this frightening and chaotic world.

Man's Best Friend

I may have annoyed a lot of my friends with my frequent dog posts but I keep posting them anyway. Haha! These creatures amuse me-- their playfulness cheers me up and their loyalty touches me. I am so much of a dog-lover that even movies about them bring me to tears oftentimes. Yeah, that includes the animated ones. I cried in some parts of Frankenweenie, guilty as charged. Might sound ridiculous to some but I can't help it. I'm too fond of dogs especially our two pooches in the house who are so lovable. They're more than just house pets, they're part of the family. Who knew I'd be cuddling fluffy canines since I used to be terrified of them in my younger years. These days, I love having man's best friend around a lot. I can't imagine our home without my furry buddies.

Doggies captured the analogue way:

After a long day, it's heartwarming to come home to four-legged friends who wag their tails unstoppably with happy facial expressions somehow trying to tell you that they're so glad you're home. Dogs are huggable stress busters that are too hard not to love.

Bazo

The Milk Tea craze still goes on here in my country. I'm thinking the word tea makes it attractive-- sounds healthy probably. Anyway, I love milk teas that's why as soon as I saw a stall near one of the universities here in my city I was on a master plan to try what they have to offer. Days and weeks went by still I never got a chance to go there to get a sip or two because the location is a bit far from downtown and I didn't have any other reason to be around the area. At my job's family day, the venue was just a a short walk from the milk tea booth Bazo. Yay! L and I went there to give it a try. We ordered Original flavor though the lady over the counter told us that Wintermelon is the bestseller. I'm more curious of the Okinawa (Japanese names intrigue me in some level), I'm off to make another master plan to drink up that one. The original tastes like every other milk tea but the catch is the rate is at student price so it's kinda like getting more than what you paid for.  I'll get back to you soon when I get to sip all of the flavors. *Wink* Aside from milk tea they also sell fries. Milk tea + french fries = perfect student refreshment. If I was a student at the surrounding schools, I'd definitely be snacking on these a lot.

Something Peach

Went for a bite to eat with L at Sweet Home Cafe as his birthday post-celebration. It was great to hang out and enjoy the night away in a cozy cafe and filling our tummies with yummy food.

Donned something comfortable for this little date night. Unintentionally, my outfit's color scheme matched the coffee shop's hues. I felt like I belong with what I wore, my sweater and boots compliment the floor.  Why am I even talking about the floor? Hahaha. I don't know, I love the cafe's floor. The pattern and colors are simply adorable.

I remember dreaming of becoming an astronaut. It would've been cool to be one of the very few females to watch Earth from the vastness of outer space. Floating in the galaxy would be an unforgettable experience. As a kid, I wasn't really thinking of the dangers of this profession. The thought of being out there swimming in deep space simply astounded me. This movie tickled my fancy; I just had to see this in the big screen.

2013 sci-fi drama Gravity revolves around Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock), a bio-medical engineer, on her first space mission with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsy (George Clooney). While servicing the Hubble Space Telescope, things go wrong as their space shuttle becomes damaged by a chain reaction of destruction from a Russian anti-satellite test. This visual spectacle makes viewers witness the dead silence of outer space and an astronaut's struggle to survive the unkind cosmos.

If you're expecting aliens, cosmic apocalypse and other stuff  like that, this is not the movie you're looking for. One thing's for sure though, it's a good watch so go ahead buy that ticket and enjoy the show.

Young Legs: Anthony Green's Upcoming Third Record

Grasping more of Anthony Green's musical creativity through his solo career is nothing short of awe-inspiring. His poetic lyrics, laudable rhythms and melodies are sure fire to auditory bliss. The good news is he is about to release his third album, Young Legs, on November 12, 2013. Good Old War works with him as his backing band for this record which is a great heads up as these guys also played in his previous album Beautiful Things as well as with Circa Survive. I know I'll be swept away by the time I get to hear everything in Young Legs-- Anthony never fails to impress. Come on, the guy is way too awesome in making music. Anyone who wants to contest that? I don't know about you but he's a prodigy to me.
